You have pretty much a 0% chance of getting a $5000 signature loan if your credit is poor. Right now, that would be difficult even with above average credit. I don’t care what you think you need it for anyway, it would only make your life worse. Stop being a slave to debt.

Yes nikki they are scammers, I have contacted some of them and found out that none has money to lend, these people tried on me everything… from the in advance fee straight scam (You need to pay the application fee), ID theft (Asking for all my ID info) to the ones that only want my name, address, email and phone number to sell it as a lead, one of them was writing his emails from Nigeria (Tracked his IP) and asking me to pay the application fee trough western union, unbelievable. I have repetitively reported them to yahoo with no results, they are all over the place, every time somebody ask how to obtain a loan they pop up like obnoxious weeds.

You could be able to obtain those 5k from a financing company specialized on high risk loans, it will be hard because they usually don’t extend credit for more than 3,000 and even if you manage to get it they will nail you so hard with interest rates and fees that your monthly payment would be somewhere around 350 to 500 a month and by the time you pay it off cost you 10,000 at least , some of these companies after you put together interest and fees comes out with an APR of 50% annual or more.
I wouldn’t do it, if there is not a true emergency the smart thing to do is to take those 500 a month you would be paying to the lender and save them, before a year you’ll have the money and you’ll remain debt free

The banks have already tried to lend money to people with poor credit history. That’s what the subprime mortgages were about, and that’s why this whole crisis today. It simply didn’t work. Neither for the banks, nor for the borrower.
